Monroeville BOE Notes

Present were Melodie Adelman, Sandra Lonz, Robin Reed, Steve Reer

 Veteran Richard Leber was presented his High School Diploma by his daughter Melodie Adelman.

 Mrs. Jamie Charville presented her request for approval of the 8^th grade trip to Washington DC in March, 2009.

 Bob and Holly Kurtyzc were present to inquire the status of the bond issue. If the Board decides to pursue the issue again, the Kurtyzc want to help with the campaign.

 The Board adjourned to executive session for approx. 20 minutes to discuss a personnel matter.

Board approved the following:

•  Minutes for the July 28, 2008 meeting
  
•  Financial reports for July 2008
  
• Policy limiting fundraising at athletic events to Athletic Boosters and Music Boosters unless an exception is granted by the Superintendent’s Executive Committee.
• Changed the Job Description for the Transportation Coordinator and the hourly rate to $17.35.
• 8^th Grade trip to Washington DC, March 19-21, 2009.
  
• Purchase radios for maintenance dept and buses at a cost of $8,007

Employment Approval:

• Increase hours of Susan Lohmann, Bus Driver
  
• Substitute Teachers and Teacher Aides
  
• Leonard DeCarmine, Bus Driver, Step 0
  
• Erin Reigal, Asst. Volleyball Coach, Step 0, 5%
  
• Step change for Amber Whaley from step 3 to step 4 on the salary schedule.
  
• Column change for Scott Bauer from BA to MA on the salary schedule.
  
• Hired Zac Reer as District Computer Repair & Maintenance at a rate of $14.50/hour not to exceed $23,780 per year.
